Dear Rozenn
The aviation industry contributes around 2% of global GHG emissions and to address this, a number of high-profile commercial initiatives have been launched in recent years to enable us to take to the skies with a cleaner conscience.
Electric or hydrogen flight is still some way off, meaning that bio-jet fuels are the only feasible option in the near future, the imperative being to act now to avoid catastrophic climate change, not tomorrow, when it will be too late.
From a technological standpoint, bioenergy provides the key to enabling aviation to decarbonise sustainably, today. During this afternoon’s conference, we will take a closer look at a variety of different pathways from a range of biomass by-product feedstocks that will be providing the essential bio-jet fuels for aviation to significantly reduce its carbon wing-print.
We will equally be delighted to voyage across the last frontier of sustainable biofuels … space !!
Sascha Deri heads up bluShift Aerospace and was seen with a smile writ large across his face as the world’s first biofuel rocket took off on a vertical trajectory, back in January of this year. Tune in at 2pm today for the inside story !
